Z is for …

… Zosted.

When I was a little girl, age six or so, I drew a picture of my mother. In it she was reclining in a chair. My caption: “Mommy is zosted.” I used to wonder why she would have been zosted, and then I’d remember that if I was six, then my sister was five, and my little brother was three. Our older siblings were nine and twelve. So? Zosted.Me? I am zosted, too. The end of the year finds me weary, not feeling my best. I have been working too hard and not getting enough rest, and all that blue blueness didn’t help, either. But now ~ now that I’ve begun my weekend off, and now that the New Year is about to unfold ~ now I can relax and rest and welcome it. I won’t be zosted for long.

So that’s it? We’ve reached the end of the alphabet already? And you say it took the whole year? Wow. Thank you, thank you Anne, for having this wonderful idea. I’ve stretched and created and pondered my way from A to Z, and I decided that since I began with a picture of Miss Annabelle, I’d end with one, too.

  1. You have 2 whole days off in a row — WOW!! That has to feel fantastic – especially since you are zosted 😀 Have you planned a NEW YEAR KNIT?? I am still working out what I will be doing on the trip. But I think I will be visiting Dr. Kot this week – need to get rid of this cough – bleech …. Take 2 days and rest up – stay in your pj’s (always a treat for me) drink coffee and knit, read, catch up on Tivo and pet Miss Annabelle – she will be happy you are home with her I am sure. And only go out for fun things 😀 If you are heading to the ocean better do it tomorrow – looks like rain for Monday.

  3. I love your word “zosted.” Kids have a way with words that are too complicated to say and just put it simply. I too am zosted and waiting for a new year to unfold. I enjoyed your ABC-along!Rest up Jane, and Happy New Year!

  4. I love it. I use “zosted” as well. Bean is now 4 1/2 and says that “exhausted” is just tired, but “zosted” is a millionfourseventyfive tired.

  5. I love the way animals curl up to sleep – don’t you wish you could tuck into circle like that sometimes?Hey Jane happy 2007! Pod says it best, I think. Onwards & upwards. In 2007, let’s have a cuppa or a glass of wine together, OK?

  6. I might just steal “zosted” from you as well. I’ve been lazy this weekend, almost happy to see the rain and not feel like I had to get out and do something! Other than knit socks and clean my house.Happy New Year Jane!
