Bloggers (Silent) Poetry Reading

My Hand

See how the past is not finished
here in the present
it is awake the whole time
never waiting
it is my hand now but not what I held
it is not my hand but what I held
it is what I remember
but it never seems quite the same
no one else remembers it
a house long gone into air
the flutter of tires over a brick road
cool light in a vanished bedroom
the flash of the oriole
between one life and another
the river a child watched

Thank you, Reya!

  1. That is a beautiful poem. I love to write poetry myself. At this point I am busy writing my story. Please check it out and pass it on. I am new to bloggers and have no friends yet. How do I follow your posts?

  3. really nice poem! I think i will write my own too….Kind of interested in writting songs right now but poem brings back good memories in highskool, everyone kept complaining how its such a girly thing to do and poetry is not for a boy. Have you seen the movie “Dead Poets Society”? Its the best..I don’t know how to follow your blog but hope you can follow mine.

  4. I clicked the Blog of Note link, I admit, but I like this blog. You have a talent I could only wish I had the smarts and patience for (knitting). And the poem was quite nice too. Love it!

  11. Wht a lovely blog. The knitting lookswonderful. I’m chiefly a quilter but have tken up knitting after a long gap. I’m travelling in Mexico and have finished one hat on the buses but the second is twisted (on circular needles) so I’ll knitting all over again on my way back (UK). The Merida knitting shop was all abuzz knitting on long and circular frames of nails like French knitting in my youth but on a bigger scale – Mary aka Quayquilter

  12. Ooh, I like your blog! ^_^ your cat is so cute. I too knit (badly) and I have added yours to the blogs I follow. (when I knit, I typically cheat by doubling up bulky yarn and using giant needles. I mean GIANT! i've got a pair of 35s. ^_^)You might take a little interest in my blog, it's called Nifty Knitters with a Vengeance. It's actually literary, but I named it thus for my love of crafts and knitting, and for my love of literature, such as a tale of two cities. (if you knit, you may like it). Check me out at http://iamthevengeance.com

  14. Lovely poem!!I understand why you won’t define yourself as having cancer. I have epilepsy and do not define myself as an epileptic. Most people no not know I have epilepsy although I do think it’s important to tell those around me just in case I would have a seizure. I’m still trying to figure out how to define myself.
