Ready for the New Year

After sunset, Long Beach, Sag Harbor

I want to knit in these colors.

I have one more day of work before a two-day break. I am so full of plans for my weekend/New Year! I love to spend the holiday quietly ~ I try to go to the ocean to welcome the year, and I always clean something up in my house (a symbolic gesture, to be sure).

I want to cast on some new knitting, too. Will it be socks? The newest Petals Collection yarn, Lenten Rose, is looking pretty and soft. Or will it be Grumperina’s Shifting Sands scarf? I ordered Sundara’s beautiful Somewhat Solid Sport Merino in “Navy over Marine” just for this project. Or maybe I’ll just finish spinning the Corriedale batt that’s on the bobbin…

I’ll be back with my ABC-Along Z. I’ve had it planned for quite a while!

  1. I’ve always wanted to knit the sunset/sunrise colors into a sweater. It is the only time those colors appear each day. Your picture is peaceful. Happy New Year!

  2. What a lovely picture Jane! No matter the project you choose for your break, I look forward to seeing it’s results. 🙂 Happy New Year – it has been fun getting to know you through the blog!

  3. Swtt Jane,I want a copy of that photograph, my dear. Have been sitting here & staring at it. Calgon, take me away.Yes to yarns/fibers in those colors & yes to a quiet “bring in the new year” & yes to cleaning up something.XOXO

  4. Jane, I want to knit something in these colors also. And I have the yarn! I bought 2 skeins of Seasilk at the retreat in just about these colors (my major splurge), I just need to find the perfect project! P.S. You are a wonderful photographer, you really have a talent!
