These are my constant companions this weekend: tissues, cough syrup, water, lozenges, M&M’s. I haven’t had a cold in years, or at least not more than a few days of sniffles. I have been attacked and laid low this time, though. I might even need a sick day tomorrow, and I never take sick days. Of course I’ll live, but I guess I’ll have to suffer a little more first.
I could barely knit yesterday, even though I wanted to. The Monkey socks are this close to being finished. I think I spent the day watching Miss Marple and the Food Network, but I’m not sure.
There’s some pretty springtime knitting waiting for me. The latest Petals Collection package arrived the other day. It’s called “Bird of Paradise” and it’s bright and cheerful and beautiful.
Once again, Sundara has created a yarn which has incredible depth and that reflects her inspiration perfectly. When I can rouse myself I’ll wind the yarn and cast on. I’ll probably even use the pattern for a change ~ I like the stitch and the heel.
Oops, gotta go. Paula Dean is making soup or something. Either that, or she’s solving a murder.
What pretty yarn – sure to brighten your day! ๐ Sending you a virtual cup of tea to help you feel better soon! ๐ (My standby – Constant Comment with lemon & honey)

I’m so sorry you’re sick! Let’s see, you must have handled a few thousand books this past week, and how many germy hands were on them before you? There are some days when I work at the elementary school that I wash my hands constantly! Hey, those Miss Marples have some serious yarn porn in them. Have you ever watched them and checked out their wardrobes? I am in love with the new Sundara. I’m almost to the toe on my Lenten Rose, and then I’m going to, well, first I’m going to put them on, and then I’m going to decide what yarn to attack next! Hope Annabelle is by your side, feel better, at least well enough to knit.

Hope you’re soon back to your standards of excellence! Jane, everyone catches a cold here and there. I read a study recently that said people who have a cold or the flu every winter are healthier than those who never get sick because the cold cleanses environmental toxins out of your system through fever, sweat and all that yuck you blow out of your nose.M&M’s as a cold rememdy I haven’t heard of, but I approve!Feel better soon!

That yarn is gorgeous! Can’t wait to see what you do with it. And your tilted block scarf – stunning! I’d never have thought to use Silk Garden for that, but it’s perfect! You know that pattern is in “Scarf Style” as “Midwest Moonlight”, but kudos to you for giving credit where credit is due (Barbara Walker). Hope you’re feeling better. Gotta cough thing going on here, which is no fun. I rarely get sick, either, so I’m a big baby when it happens.
