Zephyr Cove is complete. What a wonderful journey it was! I’m so pleased with how it turned out. The pattern made sense as I was knitting. Though I chose yarn that might not have been what the designer intended, I know I made the right choice. Not only did I have Brooklyn Tweed LOFT in my stash, in colors that called to me, it’s also one of my all-time favorite yarns to knit with.
This is one of those pieces that will make me smile whenever I put it on. It loops and drapes and curves, and it’s lightweight enough to wear under a coat as well as over one. It has those delightful little picots all along one edge, and of course, there’s the little leaf at the beginning. The wavy lace edge really does make me think of water, too.
I don’t know when I last made a shawl in such a short time.It must be all the garter stitch — another reason that I adore LOFT is how beautiful and crisp it looks in garter stitch.
