I spoke too soon. A significant frogging incident occurred when it was discovered that the armhole of this sweater was sized for a twelve year old. Most of yesterday’s knitting was sacrificed in the name of the Knitting Olympics Athelete’s Pledge. Some cursing might have been heard by the people downstairs, but all in all, I handled it well. I frogged, I rewound, and I kept on knitting. That’s what it’s all about, after all.
One good thing? I won’t have to spit-splice for at least 8 inches, because I’ve got all that pre-spit-spliced yarn to work with.
Another good thing? I am closer to my idea of a great sweater, and nobody will have to watch me tug at uncomfortable sleeves or listen to me complain about them.

I was pleasantly distracted by this darling little cloud on my way up the stairs this afternoon. I don’t know why, except that there it was as I turned to put the key in the lock.
I think I will name it Milo.
(Don’t mind me. I get this way sometimes.)

Ohhh! You name clouds! And I had never thought of it. Fancy that! hee!Good for you for frogging. If you make a sweater FAST that you hate, that’s not really being an olympian, is it.Bye Milo!:)

Yes, it seems there was a lot of Olympic frogging over the weekend. Glad you’ve recovered and are well on your way. Once I finally figured out the mistake I was making over (and over, and over) again, I haven’t made it since and am almost back to the point pre-frogging. Thanks for your support and cheers – it sure makes things go more smoothly.

The trick to winning is to pick yourself up and keep going – you can even win points for that. I give you 5.

I’m sorry about the frogging – isn’t it annoying when there is a true design flaw in a pattern? I was looking through the new IK last night, and one of the sweaters had obvious tight pulling at the arm. I looked at the schematic, and they were only allowing for a very small armhole – now with your experience to remember I’m going to check for this in the future BEFORE I cast on.

Hi Milo! Hi Jane!I am always amazed at the braintrust that makes arms like sticks.. but then.. I am always amazed at how people don’t consider other sizes when making their patterns. You just keep knitting.. and congrats on catching that fall before you hit the ice. 🙂
