Dear Sundara,

Please stop don’t stop creating all this beautiful yarn! I have the hardest time letting it mature in my stash, even for a day. Right out of the lovely package, on to the swift and winder it goes.

And the greens — I know how you love green, but please stop don’t stop dying the irresistible greens! Green Over Apricot, Spring Green Over Lemon, and now this: Lime Over Mint. It’s too much, really it is.

I think there will be a Backyard Leaves scarf knitted out of these two skeins. I’ve used this Sport Merino yarn before, and I’ve been wondering when a new color would come along and tug at my sleeve.

Honestly, Sundara, you’ve got to stop keep dying these glorious yarns.

:::

Is it nap time yet? Probably too late for one now…wish I’d thought about it sooner! It’s going to be hectic at the bookstore for the next five days, and I have hemming and packing to do for my trip to Chicago next week. My niece Rachel, the recipient of the Monkey socks, will be graduating from college. I am tremendously proud of her, and I can’t wait to see her receive her diploma.

And then there’s the matter of my birthday. I had to schedule myself to work on Saturday, but who wants to work on their birthday? Maybe I can slip out at noon. What kind of cake do I want? That is the next question.

Edit: When I posted this, I noticed that the extraordinary greens of this Lime Over Mint yarn seem to be missing from the photographs. Annabelle says she ate them, but I think it was more likely due to the camera’s inability to capture perfection. Perfection, I tell you.

  1. I’d vote for a chocolate torte with some kind of decadent berry sauce.You should definitely try to get out of work early. No one should have to work on their birthday.That Sundara yarn is really something else. I haven’t had the pleasure of working with it yet but it is high up on my wish list 🙂

  3. You had better let us know soon what kind of cake you want – the girls and I are planning away – they vote for chocolate on chocolate, if what they want helps you decide, and, of course, I have no opinion when it comes to chocolate.Those Sundara greens make me swoon – you know how I love green.

  4. Oh, Jane, you are too funny! I’ll do my best not to dye too much irresistible green yarn, but I probably will fail. I did immediately call up my mother and make her read your post. You made her day.But Happy early Birthday! Enjoy your cake!

  5. happy birthday – to come. Yes slip out early and cake – well around here its only ever one of 3 choices. Choolate, lemon or spicy apple, as long as you don’t have to do the dishes. Sending small something tomorrow, not knitterly but cute, and has the most wonderful shades of blue and greens – you said surprises were good, hope you like it. stell in nz,

  6. Happy birthday, Jane–your blog is my virtual “mini-spa” and I thank you for it. Mariep.s. If you click on the yarn photos to enlarge them, the colors seem better–at least on my screen. Those are some gorgeous greens singing in harmony.

  10. I’m seeing such lovely green yarn all over blogland. Your Sundara yarn is just delicious. About a year ago, Sundara had a green laceweight that I coveted and didn’t buy. Big regret since I’m now on a yarn diet. Have a wonderful birthday weekend!
