I is for

Little green iPod Nano.

I really am indulging my whims lately. It’s practical, because I’ll have a lot more time to listen to books and music in the coming months. It’s also just so darn cute that it makes me smile. There you go — it has healing properties!

I finished this scarf the other day and blocked it yesterday. The yarn is Spirit Trail Fiberworks Ixchel, 100% Prime Alpaca in “Soft Greens.” I love the way it turned out — the way the little blocks play against each other, the way the colors shift across the surface, the incredible luxury of the yarn. Now all I have to do is write up the pattern and hope that Jennifer likes it enough to display it in her booth this Fall.

I had to have something small to work on along with the big Tuscany shawl, so I found a pattern in my Ravelry queue that looked just the right amount of mindless. They’re Megan Humphrey’s Artichoke Socks, and I’m using Sundara’s sock yarn in “Peacock and Purple.” I’ll probably finish them in the next few days, so I’ll wait to post a photo.

I’m determined to catch up on my ABC’s, so look for my J in the next few days. I’ll make it to M yet!

My gratitude to all of you who have commented or emailed continues to deepen. I’m floating along on the gentle waves of love and energy that you’re sending, and finding that staying afloat isn’t such a difficult thing to do after all.

  1. I have an older iPod and I love it. I listen to books and music and podcasts. The new ones are so cute. Nice scarf! Geometric patterns are my favorites. I’m trying to catch up on my ABCs too.

  2. Cute Ipod! I have a little Shuffle that I use for podcasts and some books and a MP3 player for the library downloads, I’m totally addicted to my players. Sometimes I even listen to music!I just love your tumbling blocks. The Spirit Trails yarn is so lovely. How could she refuse?I did the Artichoke socks in ShibuiKnits Sock, it’s an easily remembered pattern and very stretchy, which I like. I made them for my SIL who loves artichokes, so it seemed appropriate. Have fun with them!

  6. My iPod nano changed my life. That sounds dramatic, I know, but it’s really a wonderful little companion for my commute and knitting time. I also find that I don’t mind household chores as much when I’m listening to it.LOVE your scarf. Please put me on the People to Alert When the Pattern’s For Sale List.

  10. Your iPod is so cute! My Nano was a “hand-me-up” from my younger brother when he upgraded. I had to “girl-ify” it with a pink case.I do believe in the healing powers of hopefullness and knitting…a nice pattern and excellent yarn, like Sundara’s, is just the right thing. 🙂

  12. The scarf and socks you’ve been making are so lovely. I,too, love my little Nano. It can go into a pocket in my purse. It’s black though so can sneak away to easily. Enjoy using it. Those tiny rascals can pack away a LOT of songs!
